Resumen:
|
The method used in LATU (Technological Laboratory of Uruguay) for calibration of aerometers has been published in Simposio Metrología 2006- Mediciones confiables para el desarrollo de México organized by CENAM- México. In this publication the use of destilated water added with a tens active (triton) as standard fluid was proposed, and the influence of the tensoactive in water density was evaluated. It was demostrated that this influence could be considered in water density´s uncertainty. Method validation and associated uncertainty budget were included in this publication. After this, a planification to improve mesurement results and achieve lower uncertainties has been faced. As a result of this planification the equipment has been modified. Modifications were: - thermostatization of calibration liquid. With this modification temperature homogenity and stability were improved. Also now it is possible to perfom the calibration at a selected temperature (aerometer´s reference temperature) . - improvements in the mechanism to achieve aerometer´s possition at calibration point. - improvement of surface tension measurement and its uncertainty estimation. A description of the new equipment and a list of accessories needed to perfom the calibration are given. The improved method has been subject of a new validation. Validation data are presented. As part of the validation we compared the performance of three different liquids ( pure distillated water, distillated water added with a tensoactive and tridecane) as hydrostatic weighing standards in order to select the best one. Reproducibility and trueness (accuracy) of the method have been evaluated. Reproducibility was evaluated repeating the calibration of the same aerometer with the same liquid . Trueness has been evaluated comparing results obtained with selected liquids with independent results obtained in another national laboratory. Uncertainty budget is presented and compared with previous version of method. Final conclusions are extracted.
