Resumen:
|
Ekek is an allergic dermatitis which causes itching in sheep and is characterised by small nodules on the grain layer of the skin which are not apparent while the animal is alive but appear after the skin is processed in the tannery. The effectiveness of topical insecticide application for the control of Ekek in sheep skins in Ethiopia has been convincingly demonstrated through the research efforts completed during the 1996-1998 period. The sheep were treated with Diazinon and Amitraz.
